Two Year Olds

At Princeton Academy our two year olds are anything but terrible. They are very busy little people, learning new skills everyday. During this time you will see a child’s vocabulary grow by leaps and bounds.

They no longer play alongside their friends, but interact directly with them. Their imagination takes over and they can be royalty one moment and the driver of a big yellow school bus the next.

They begin to learn how to share. They learn that biting and hitting are not appropriate behaviors and how to handle conflicts correctly. Teachers set clear boundaries for the children and the children are beginning to learn right from wrong.

Positive discipline is used in the classroom and children who are acting out are redirected to a more appropriate activity. They are now capable of listening to stories or thumbing through a picture book on their own. This is truly an exciting time for these young students.

And let’s not forget potty training. Two year olds have a great preoccupation with their bodily functions. Almost all girls and a large majority of boys are toilet trained by the time they turn three.
